The climax of a three-day Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) Tayari Programme which took place at Nasokol Primary School a week ago has energised the teachers who seemed determined to improve learning in pre-primary schools.

The ECDE teachers were taught various skills on how to handle the young learners including the use of  IT  in implementing learning.

The teachers were taught the importance of using clear and quality teaching and learning aids, use of simple methods of teaching, use of REALIA (Real Objects or Environment for Learning) as well as individual learners’ attention.

At the end of the seminar, teachers in each school were provided with a phone which has an app that contains ECDE Syllabus. This therefore makes learning in all the ECDE centre to be uniform.

The pilot Tayari programme was conducted to Mnagei Ward ECDE teachers organized by the county government in collaboration with an organization known as EIDU.

Isaac Krop and Rahab Cheptoo could not hide their joy after the seminar as they promised great improvement to learners with the implementation of Tayari programme. Both of them are ECDE teachers at Tampalal Primary School in Kishaunet zone.

The programme was facilitated by Rose Kochulem, the Mnagei Ward ECDE coordinator and Hellen Kamama, the West Pokot Sub-county ECDE director.
