East Africa’s school football giants set for August showdown in Kakamega

Kakamega County is set to transform into the heartbeat of East African school football this August as 14 of the region’s best boys’ secondary school teams face off in the 2025 East Africa Secondary Schools Ball Games. From August 14 to 25, Kakamega School and the iconic Bukhungu Stadium will play host to a football spectacle that promises fierce rivalries, dazzling skills and unforgettable moments.

The stage is already set, and the stakes could not be higher. This year’s line-up features football giants, rising challengers and hungry teams to prove their dominance on the regional stage. The draw has produced two highly competitive pools that will push players to their limits from the very first whistle.

In Pool A, the home crowd will rally behind Kenya’s Musingu High School, Butere Boys, Highway Secondary, and Amus College. They will have to fend off the challenge from Uganda’s Buddo Secondary, Rwanda’s C.G.F Kicukiro and Tanzania’s Kizuka Secondary. Buddo, known for their ruthless finishing and tactical discipline, are expected to be one of the toughest opponents in the group, but the likes of Butere Boys and Musingu have already promised to give as good as they get.
