The East African Community (EAC) has been asked to develop a uniform education curriculum among member states.

Uganda’s Opposition leader Kizza Besigye, speaking in Borabu Constituency, Nyamira County, emphasized the role of education in fostering unity among communities.

Besigye praised the late West Mugirango MP Benson Kegoro for combining education and politics to provide visionary leadership.

At Kegoro’s funeral, attended by Azimio la Umoja party leaders Raila Odinga and Martha Karua, Nyamira County Governor Simba Arati encouraged embracing Kegoro’s principles against corruption.

Senator Okong’o Omogeni criticized Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) for violating Nyambaria Boys High School candidates’ privacy during an examination.

Benson Kegoro Ogero, buried at his Borabu home in Nyamira County, rose from a traditional herdsboy to become an educated leader.

After training in carpentry and teaching at Siringo Intermediate School, he ventured into politics, serving in the Nyanza Regional Legislative Council.

Kegoro’s journey to Parliament followed a by-election after the demise of Greige Morara.

He served two terms before pursuing local leadership as Ward Councilor for Bosamaro Ward.

Later, Kegoro became the director of Tea Development Authority (KTDA) at Kebirigo Tea Factory.

Until his death, he chaired the Abagusii Council of Elders Borabu Branch.

Benson Kegoro Ogero’s legacy as a pioneering scholar and politician in the Kisii Region is commemorated alongside other notable figures.
