DP Ruto rescues debt-ridden schools in Baringo South

Deputy President William Ruto paid Sh2 million towards the buses debt of eight schools in Baringo South.
Baringo South schools had pending debts of buses they purchased, and some of the institutions had already received warning letters that failure to settle their outstanding debts, the buses will be auctioned.
Among the schools include Lake Bogoria, Mwenge, Sangarau, Ng’ambo, Sabor, Mochongoi, Nyimbei and Tuyotich.
However, DP Ruto while launching 70km Marigat-Karandi road at Kabel gave out Sh2 million in cash and promised to deposit the rest Sh6.5 million.
Through the Constituency Development Fund office, area MP Horace Kipchoim said they had donated some cash to cater for the buses and the remaining was to be cleared by the parents.
Baringo South CDF manager James Komen has asked the National Government to speed up the clearance of the debt and also complete the rural electrification for the remaining households.
”I request the Government to issue title deeds to residents of Mochongoi Settlement Scheme and power-up all households so that residents get better living,” the MP said.
The 70 kilometre road will be completed within the next four years.
MP Kipchoim has been ailing since 2014 but that has not prevented her from serving her people who gave her a second term during the last General Elections in a tight race that saw her defeat her longtime political nemesis Charles Kamuren.
The new road will battle insecurity and open up the area economically since business people will be able to transport their goods to the market with ease.
School going children will travel easily from Mochongoi to Marigat and other places as well.
