Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has commended Baringo County leaders for their unity, which he said has been instrumental in restoring peace along the previously volatile border areas.
Speaking on the sidelines of a church service and youth and women empowerment event in Kabartonjo town, Baringo North, the Deputy President noted that schools in the once-affected regions have now reopened a sign of growing stability.
He lauded local leaders for collaborating on initiatives aimed at achieving lasting peace in the region.
“I’m proud to have visited the affected areas more than twenty times during my tenure as Cabinet Secretary for Interior. I urge you to continue supporting the current Cabinet Secretary, Kipchumba Murkomen, in efforts to find a permanent solution to a crisis that has plagued this region for decades, causing loss of life and displacement,” said Deputy President Kindiki.
