Deputy Government Spokesperson Mwanaisha Chidzuga has urged youths to formalize their job skills by enrolling in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.
Speaking during the Kazi Majuu recruitment exercise held at the Ukunda Showground in Kwale County, Chidzuga emphasized the importance of certification in increasing employability both locally and abroad.
“If you’re good at construction, electrical work, or any other field, kindly get certified,” she said.Take advantage of the opportunities offered by TVETs.”
Chidzuga said skills are valuable, but they must be supported by proper documentation to make youth competent and marketable.

She noted that many young people already possess hands-on experience in various trades but lack formal recognition, which limits their chances of securing better-paying jobs or working in international markets.
She encouraged the youth to take personal initiative in upgrading their skills and to explore government-sponsored programs that support vocational training.
The Kazi Majuu initiative targets youth seeking employment opportunities overseas.
The Kwale recruitment drive attracted hundreds of participants, most of them young people eager to explore employment opportunities abroad.

She reminded them to value their work and remain focused on their goals.
“Think of the status of your family back home. Work hard and make sure you uplift your lives by the opportunities you get,” she said.
She said that hard work, discipline, and a positive attitude are key to long-term success in the global job market.
Chidzuga added that the program is part of President William Ruto’s administration to address unemployment and drive socioeconomic development.
