DCI Kinoti to lead the revival of Kanyakine Boys

By John Majau

The Director of criminal investigations Geoffrey Kinoti has promised to work in partnership with other alumni of Kanyakine Boys’ High school in a bid to revive and reclaim the institution lost glory.
Kinoti said the school which was famous in the 1980’s is currently a pale shadow of its former self after its academic performance in the national examinations took a nose dive for the worst due to mismanagement which has led to frequent students’ unrest.
He regretted that due to regular strikes, drug and alcohol abuse witnessed in the school in the previous years, the school has seen its fortunes dwindle at both the national and local level noting that at the moment the learning institution ranks poorly in academic performance among the schools in Meru County.
The DCI boss was speaking at the Police Pavilion South C in Nairobi County where the alumni hosted a get together meant to look for ways of reviving the once academic giant.
Kinoti said the school shaped his future career and urged all the other education stakeholders to work harmoniously with each other in a move geared towards reversing the trend.
Kinoti and the Environment Cabinet Secretary Keriako Tobiko are among the old boys of the school where the later served as the school captain.
In 1984 Keriako was the best student in the entire country while Dr. Karau emerged as the best student countrywide in 2002.
From 1985 a renowned journalist Muthuuri Nyamu won the coveted prize of the best actor in the national drama festivals three times consecutively.
Unfortunately today the once flying institution has been hit by strikes and drug abuse which the new administration is trying to address.
