Nakuru County Executive Member for Education, ICT and e-Governance Raymond Komen has said all registered ECDE classrooms will benefit from the ECDE teachers distribution formula presented to the County Assembly Budget and Appropriation committee.
Komen said that it is the vision of the County Government to see that all ECDE centres are fully and equitably equipped with teachers. The distribution, he said, will be done using the 350 number of teachers set to be employed multiplied by the number of registered public schools in a ward then divided by the total number of registered public schools in the county.
‘We have used this formula because the distribution of infrastructure varies in different wards. In the long run, all registered ECDE centres will get enough teachers regardless of the population of the children”, noted Komen.
The committee led by the chair Moses Ndungu Kamau gave a nod to the proposed formula.
