Isiolo County Government has employed on permanent basis a total of 345 nursery school teachers.
Governor Dr Mohammed Kuti urged the teachers who have already been posted to remain committed in their work.
However, he put on notice any ECDE teacher who might have been transferred to work in the department of revenue collection to return to the classrooms and start teaching failure to which they will be sacked.
“The ECDE teachers were employed to teach and not to collect revenue. They should return to class and start teaching immediately or else risk being sacked,” said Dr. Kuti.
The Governor challenged all the nursery school teachers who have already graduated with certificate courses to enroll for a degree programme in a bid to improve their salaries, knowledge, employment opportunities and in the process uplift their living standards.
He noted that each year his government will construct 18 new nursery school class rooms which are child friendly.
