The Kisii County Director of Education has expressed optimism in the smooth transition of pupils from Primary School to Junior Secondary Schools next year.

While speaking at his Kisii town office, the Director, Mr. Pius Ngoma revealed that his county has reached 88.5 percent in the completion of the Competency Based Curriculum classrooms.

“I am happy for the progress of this good work and I hope all the classrooms will be ready by the time the first batch of Junior Secondary learners will be joining various school,” he said.

Ngoma briefed that among the 14 Sub-counties in Kisii, Gucha South was leading with 100 percent of the classrooms being completed.

He attributed the story of success to the constructors who worked with the instructions from his office to beat the deadline.

Mr. Ngoma thanked the Ministry of Education that sent money to the counties for prompt infrastructural improvement.

He asked those Sub-counties whose schools had not completed the construction of the classrooms to consult with the Sub-county Directors of Education for any assistance so as to avoid lagging behind.

He said that his officers will keep on moving from one school to another for routine inspection of the classrooms.
