County directors moved by TSC in latest reshuffle

TSC CEO Dr Nancy Macharia. Quite a number of the commission's county directors have been moved to new stations as 2023 comes to a close.

County Directors have been moved to new stations by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in the latest reshuffle effected this week.

Among those affected include Ann Wawuda who has been in charge of Migori County; she now shifts base to Tharaka Nithi County.

Her place will be taken up by Florence Momanyi, who has been the Isiolo CDE. Momanyi’s replacement in Isiolo, however, was not clear by the time of publishing this story.

Wawuda will take over from Rosemary Sokotian, who has been deployed to Laikipia County.

Sokotian on the other hand will replace Edward Mwanthi, who will now move to the Western Regional Director of Education’s (RDE) office for reassignment of duties.

It is instructive to note that Mwanthi had been deployed to Laikipia in March this year from Uasin Gishu, this new transfer coming so soon.

The TSC has also promoted the Kisumu Deputy Director Perpetua Kashima to a full director and deployed her to Kiambu as the new county boss.

She will replace Abubakar  Hassan who now reports to Vihiga County as the new chief.

Hassan will replace Loise Murei who leaves the station for Elgeyo Marakwet. She will take over from Ibrahim Rugut, who has been recalled to TSC headquarters for new duties.

Ibrahim Rugut has been replaced by Loice Murei in Elgeyo Marakwet.

Rugut’s transfer also raises questions considering he was just transferred to his new station from Kisumu in September this year.

Similarly, Obed Mwaniki who has been in charge of Meru will take over in Nyandarua to replace Tom Akal, who has been recalled to the Commission headquarters for new assignments.

Nyandarau County TSC Director Tom Akal who has been transferred to headquarters for new duties.

Mwaniki’s replacement was not immediately clear.

Salome Ombiso has been the Deputy Director in Nyamira County. She now becomes the new Embu County director.

Ombiso had just been transferred in promotion from Bungoma to Nyamira.

She takes over from Margaret Kamau, who has been recalled to the TSC headquarters to take up new roles.

In the same changes, Solomon Leseewa, hitherto stationed in Kajiado County, leaves for Trans-Nzoia County in a similar role.

He will succeed Jimal Abdi, who reports to Machakos as the new sheriff in town and replaces Lewis Mutegi who moves to neighbouring Kajiado County to replace Leseewa.

There were also speculations that the Kitui CDE Jane Mwaniki could also be on the move. Unconfirmed reports indicate she is likely to go back to headquarters for redeployment.
