Commissioner urges examiners to maintain integrity during KCSE exams period

Makueni County Commissioner Beverly Opwora has called upon all examination officers to act and play their parts accordingly to deliver credible exams.

Speaking during the opening of national exams container at the County Commissioner’s compound in Wote Town, Opwora urged examiners to adhere to the exams regulations to the latter to avoid malpractices.

She thanked the teaching fraternity for preparing the candidates well and noted that the county has 413 centres and 29,518 candidates (14,560 boys and 14,948 girls).

There are 6 centres for Adult Continuing Education (ACE) with 71 candidates (35 males and 36 females).

She noted that just before the exams started, a candidate from Mukaa sub county had given birth at Makindu town hospital, from where she will take her papers.

Makueni County TSC Director Alex Cheruiyot called upon principals to take charge of their centres and urged them to familiarize themselves with the exams regulations and hope for the best.

Makueni county Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KESSHA) Chairman Julius Mutwii told the centre managers that they are counting on each one of them to play their roles wisely.

County Director of Education James Gachugi called for smooth running of the examination period.

Samson Arodi, Quality Assurance Officer, said he hopes that the exercise will be good with manageable stress.
