College student flees exam room in West Pokot

A student from Chests Teachers Training College in West Pokot has been reported to have escaped from college after doing the first paper in Primary Teachers Examination.

Mercy Cheyech went berserk, jumped over the fence and vanished into the thin air after doing the English Paper.

Speaking to Education News, college Principal, Mr. Duncan Okwaro said he had sacrificially played his role by taking her for rehabilitation after realizing the problem.  

“Cheyech is a repeater and it has been the desires of my heart to assist her complete the examination and graduate, however, my efforts are now futile,” said Okwaro.

A senior Kenya National Examinations Council official, Mr. Edwin Kubai who was monitoring the exercise in company of others said that he completely exonerates lecturers and the Principal from the blame.

“Test anxiety, drug use, academic stress and peer pressure must have driven the candidate crazy,” stated Kubai.
