Coast Region records 696 adult KCSE candidates in 2025

A total of 696 adult learners from five counties in the Coast region have been registered to sit for the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) as private candidates, marking a significant milestone in adult education enrolment in the region.

According to the respective county directors of Adult Education, the learners have already been cleared by the Ministry of Education to participate in the national examination.

Mombasa County leads with 330 candidates, confirmed the County Director of Adult Education, Franklin Karanja. Kwale County follows with 111 candidates, according to David Thengele, while Taita Taveta County has 106 candidates, as revealed by Hannah Sau. In Kilifi County, 92 learners will sit for the exams according to Rehema Juma Mboko, while Tana River County has 57 candidates, confirmed Robert Zoka.

The five county directors commended the candidates for their determination to pursue education despite challenges and urged them to intensify their studies as the national examinations approach.
