The Overseer Tent of Testimonies International Bishop Dr. Fred Akama has called for the efforts to empower young entrepreneurs at Moi University as plans for the Young Entrepreneurs Business Summit – Moi University Edition gains momentum.
The much-anticipated summit is scheduled for Friday, January 30, 2026 and aims to provide a platform for students to explore, develop, and showcase innovative business ideas.
During a meeting yesterday, Bishop Akama engaged with the Executive Committee of the Moi University Student Council, led by acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Kiplagat Kotut, Student Organization President Peter John, and Ignatius Granmar Sheri, Deputy Dean of Students in charge of student affairs and Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics, Research, Extension and Student Affairs -Prof.Khaemba Ongeti to discuss the planning and organization of the summit.
The discussions centered on ensuring that the event creates meaningful opportunities for students to interact with industry leaders, gain practical insights into entrepreneurship, and build networks that could support their future business endeavors.
Bishop Akama, who has a long history of supporting youth empowerment and entrepreneurial initiatives, emphasized the importance of equipping students with the skills, mentorship, and exposure necessary to succeed in today’s competitive business environment.

“It is vital that our young people are not only educated academically but also prepared to create wealth, drive innovation, and solve real-world challenges through entrepreneurship,” he said.
