Chief collapses, dies while sitting KCSE exams in Tana River

A 52 year old chief in Tana River County collapsed and later died yesterday while sitting for Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education   (KCSE) as a private candidate in Hola .

Sala Location Chief Abdi Bute Sure was sitting the maths paper when he collapsed in the examination room.

The candidate was rushed to Hola County referral Hospital where he was checked, treated and released.

After being released the elderly candidate went to his room.  However when he failed to come out of his room for long, the lodge attendant got worried and broke the door.

‘’You see they got worried that the elderly candidate had not gotten out of the room yet he was sitting for KCSE, ‘’ said Tana River DCIO Habel Ndikira.

Although the cause of the chief’s death is yet to be disclosed, the family revealed the chief was a chronic asthma patient besides having high blood pressure.  

The candidate was buried almost immediately at Hola Islamic Cemetery as the Islamic faith stipulates
