Changes have been made in the top management of Kisii University in a move to steer the academic vision and spur development in the institution.

Speaking at the university, Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Nathan Ogechi revealed that the University Council effected the changes to embrace structural adjustments among its staff.
In the new development, Prof Charles Okioga, who has been a Senior Lecturer in the school of Business and Economics, is appointed Registrar for Administration, Human Resource and Central Services to replace Rose Ageta.
Prof Okioga is among the renowned scholars in the institution after he co-authored “Quality Issues in the Expansion of University Education in Kenya” with two of his colleagues.
Prof Christopher Ngacho, who is a Lecturer of Mathematics, Business Statistics and Project Management, becomes the new Registrar for Research, Innovation and Resource Mobilization, as Prof Kennedy Getange resumes the docket of Registrar in Academic affairs. He replaces Dr Joash Kerongo.
The VC said that the Council made the changes through the 26th Full Council Meeting that took place early today.
“The Council directed that the three be appointed in acting capacity as the institution adjusts its manpower,” he said, revealing that the university has 635 teaching staff, among them 3 full Professors and 14 Associate Professors.
He underscored the need to have more Professors in the ever expanding university.
