Regional Director of Education (RDE) for Central Sabina Aroni has lamented the increase in cases of homosexuality in secondary schools in the region.
Aroni said all stakeholders in the Central region should unite and find a solution to save the future of thousands of school children, failure to which society will degenerate to immorality.
She called on religious leaders in the region to help by teaching the Biblical perspective of life and sexuality.
The director also said school girls should be mentored to concentrate on their education, putting into consideration that after excelling they will be married and live a fruitful life.

Aroni was speaking at Kiganjo Secondary in Nyandarua Central during Nyandarua County’s Education Day which was attended by Director of Secondary Schools Dr William Sugut and other senior ministry officials.
She asked politicians to visit secondary schools and educate children on the importance of moral uprightness to grow emotionally, psychologically and mentally.
“We must join hands and find lasting solutions to this problem in order to save our young children,” she said, revealing that the vice has been reported in many schools, especially boarding schools in Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Kiambu, Nyandarua and Murang’a counties.
The RDE also encouraged parents to talk to their children to avoid such behaviour and mould them to be good citizens.
