As the world marks Mother’s Day today, we acknowledge the immense strength, love, and resilience of mothers. Mothers do it all, from caring for babies to guiding teenagers to where they should be. At times, they are unsung heroes, juggling multiple tasks while offering unlimited support to families.
Mothers deserve our highest admiration and reverence, if for no other reason than daily sacrifice alone, but also because they are nurturers.
Mothers are pillars of hope and stability in a sea of adversity. They teach us values, give us confidence, and provide us with a home.
Mothers’ love is strong and masculine enough to withstand adversity and challenge us to change.
We must demand more government intervention to support mothers, particularly teen mothers, who are so vulnerable. These women are attempting to become mothers at a stage in their lives when they are finding themselves. They must have access to services, education, and health care so that they and their infants can survive.

We must engage communities and create supportive communities for all mothers. Offering daycare services, parenting, and mental health services can be helpful. Investing in programs that address teen mothers’ needs can enable them to greatly achieve their full potential and have happy and healthy children.
Let us honour the mothers today and commit to working for their rights and welfare. We can make this world a place where all the mothers are empowered and loved to grow so that they may continue to do great work.
I wish you all a very happy Mother’s Day. Your love and care are such an inspiration.
