Cardinal Otunga Mosocho National School Principal Ezekiel Okeyo was among the 24 candidates who graduated with a PhD at Kisii University.

He was among the 4,018 scholars who graduated at different levels, from diplomas to degrees and Doctorates, during Kisii University’s 14th Graduation ceremony.

Okeyo is a seasoned biology teacher who has served at several schools, including Nakuru Secondary School.

He is a highly respected figure within the education caucus.

He has also headed Bishop Mugendi Nyagegogi and Nyansiongo Boys before moving to his current station, Cardinal Otunga-Mosocho.

Education Cabinet Secretary, Julius Ogamba, who presided over the ceremony, took the opportunity to remind parents and teachers to prepare to receive and accommodate the pioneering grade 10 pupils in Junior Secondary schools in January. 

He asked teachers to be ready to assist parents in understanding all the pathways involved in their transition to the next level to ensure smooth learning.

The acting Chancellor of the University, Dr Sarah Rut, graced the graduation ceremony and asked the graduands to embrace a continuous learning mindset and advance their studies to remain relevant and marketable in the ever-changing world of employment demands.

The Chancellor asked the graduands to continue upholding the good name of their institution by embracing diligence, honesty, and dignity in whomever they are called to serve.

Kisii University Vice Chancellor Nathan Ogechi expressed his satisfaction with the competency of the graduands and wished them a prosperous life as they left the University to serve in different capacities.
