Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Education Ezekiel Machogu has assured candidates who could not sit for the 2023 KCPE examinations that they will have an opportunity to take the exams in January.
“The 9,354 candidates who failed to take KCPE in 2023 will sit for a special exam in January to ensure that the last cohort under the 8.4.4 curriculum does not miss out on Form One admission,” he said.
He was speaking when he released the Form 1 placement results today at Lenana School, Nairobi.
The CS assured parents that all of the 1.4 million candidates who sat for KCPE this year and those who will sit for it early next month will all transit to secondary schools across the country.
During the meeting, Machogu highlighted the roadmap for the implementation of education programmes across the country.
Machogu further cautioned Principals against charging parents extra levies apart from the constitutionally recommended school fees by the government.
