The Chief Officer for Water and Environment in Busia County Vincent Wanjala has called on parents to prioritize their children’s education, recognizing it as the key to a brighter future.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony of Angie’s Talanta Junior Academy in Bunyala North ward, Budalangi constituency, Wanjala emphasized the importance of education in eliminating ignorance, which he referred to as the greatest impediment to progress.

Additionally, he commended the academy for its year-long commitment to providing educational opportunities to the local community, bringing learning closer to the people.

Wanjala also urged local leadership, specifically the Budalangi NG-CDF committee, to prioritize education by allocating funds for the establishment of more educational institutions in the sub-county.

“Parents should create a conducive environment for students preparing for this year’s national exams, allowing them ample time for revision to achieve high grades,” he stressed.

In addition, Wanjala highlighted the county government’s commitment to environmental conservation.

He mentioned a tree planting initiative taking place in all learning institutions across the county, aligning with the national program aimed at planting 15 billion trees by 2032, as directed by the Head of State.
