Private schools in Bungoma county have lauded the National Government for their inclusion in projects being implemented in public schools in the country.
Speaking to the Press in Webuye Town during celebrations to mark this year’s World Teachers Day, the teachers led by Sanya Academy headteacher, Mr Allan Barasa and Mrs Dollin Odando ,the tutors applauded the Ministry of Education for working to ensure that there was a smooth transition process of learners to Grade Six in regards to the Competency Based Curriculumn (CBC) without sidelining on the basis of whether from Public or Private school.
The two teachers have also commended the society at large for celebrating them worldwide.
They noted that being celebrated gave them a morale boost as they continue imparting knowledge to students.
Elsewhere in Bungoma town, teachers expressed their happiness and gratitude towards the special day intended to acknowledge the role they played in the society.
Speaking to Education News at Bungoma D.E.B Primary school, the Head teacher Mr Tobias Khisa wished a happy teachers day to all teachers around the nation and urged the government to employ more teachers considering the ever-increasing numbers of students in public Schools.

Mr Khisa also requested the Education Ministry to build more classes so as to effectively accommodate more students for effective learning.
On Matters relating to CBC , Mr. Khisa called upon the recently appointed taskforce to ensure that it is affordable to parents of learners in both public and private schools.
Ms. Walubengo, a teacher in the school expressed her joy for the recognition of teachers.
“I wish to thank teachers and congratulate them for the work they are doing. It is good that they are being recognized,” she said.
The World Teachers day is an international day held annually on October 5 and was first celebrated in the year 1994 and was established by The United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Its main objective for the day was focusing, appreciating, assessing and improving and providing an opportunity to consider issues related to teachers and teaching as a profession.
