Bungoma South teachers elect KNUT branch officials in a peaceful poll

The Bungoma South teachers on Sunday February 15, held a peaceful Kenya National Union of Teachers KNUT branch elections to elect their officials in various positions.

The polls which took place at Masinde Muliro Stadium in Kanduyi Constituency, Bungoma County, show Kennedy Luketelo retained his seat as the KNUT Bungoma South Executive Secretary as Masai Dennis from Kanduyi won the Chairman seat to replace Augustine Watamba

Moses Toili was elected as the vice chairman, Hemsline Wabomba won treasurer seat as Plantine Mwelu takes the overall woman representative.

The tutors also elected Benjamin Makokha as BEC Bumula/Kabula, Chris Wanjala for BEC Sang’alo/ Mwibale, Metrine Makhapila took Kanduyi Women Representative seat as Misiko wins Municipality.

Christine Nabibia took Bumula/Siboti Woman Representative, Brenda Cheng’oli won Assistant Secretary Seat as Walter Khaemba takes BEC Kimaeti/Siboti

Leah Kisaka was elected as the representative for the people living with disabilities.

The Elections were supervised by the KNUT National Deputy Secretary General Hesbon Otieno and Bungoma County Labour Officer Lodfig Nalianya who commended the Bungoma south branch teachers for upholding a high sense of discipline and peace during the elections.

The new Chairman Dennis Masai urged all the elected officials to uphold unity in championing for the rights and welfare of tutors.
