The reigning Busia County soccer champions John Osogo Secondary School (JOSS) lost their opening match in the Western Region Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) term two games that kicked off yesterday afternoon.
The only match of the opening four-day bonanza, whose curtain comes down on Saturday, July, 20, 2024, saw Kibabii beat JOSS 1-0 in the regional level championships at Bungoma High School to inch closer to booking a ticket for today’s semi-finals.

The lone goal was scored by Ian Nanga in the 29th minute in a pulsating match that saw JOSS produce scintillating match display, but lady luck failed to smile on them as Kibabii hang onto the first half goal to clinch three crucial points.
Despite the loss, JOSS has two matches which, if they win, will see them retain meaningful chances of booking a slot in the last eight.

John Osogo will play their second game against Munyuki today at Sudi Stadium before winding up their preliminary matches against Chavakali Boys on Friday, hoping to secure a place in the semi-finals.
