Bungoma High School has moved to defend the eligibility of its Rugby 15s squad ahead of the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) National Term One Games, following concerns raised in a recent audit report.
In a statement released on Sunday, the school assured parents, students, and alumni that it is working closely with KSSSA officials to resolve the matter. The administration emphasized that the team’s commitment and discipline will not be overshadowed by external challenges. “Our focus remains on the excellence we have built over the years. No external pressure or challenge will deter us from our mission,” the statement read.
The controversy stems from an audit signed by P.F. Otieno, Head of ICT in the office of the KSSSA Secretary General, which flagged widespread irregularities across rugby, athletics, and handball.
