By Mathews Bulimo

Bungoma Deputy Governor, Prof. Charles Kibanani Ngome has uged  youths in the county to enroll for Technical Training courses.

While addressing graduands at the Kibabii Vocational Training Centre (VCT) in Kanduyi Constituency, Prof. Ngome affirmed Bungoma County government’s commitment in improving and sustaining quality services in the VTC Sector through equipping, gradual recruitment of instructors and constructing more Centres of Excellence to accommodate the tremendous rise in number of enrollment per year.

Chief Officer for Education and Vocational Training Rose Murunga said the youth will  gain technical skills and initiate self-employment.

She decried that many youths engaged in casual labor yet the county has invested heavily in vocational institutions with modern learning and practical equipment.

The principal Instructor, Kibabii VTC, Christine Wamalwa, applauded the Department of Education and Vocational Training and the entire administration of Bungoma County for the tireless effort in supporting the training centres across the county through furnishing of learning facilities, offering bursaries and conditional grants to students.

Kibabii VTC, one of the leading training institutions in Bungoma, certified over 60 graduands in Hospitality, Hairdressing and Beauty and Automobile.

The institution’s key partner, Cap Youth Empowerment institute under GIZ, offers pre and post internship opportunities for the trainees from the Kibabii VTC.
