The 2026 Brookside KSSSA National Term 1 Games gathered pace on Thursday with electrifying performances across multiple disciplines as teams intensified their push for national glory.
In rugby, Upper Hill School emerged as one of the standout sides after sealing a place in the semifinals with a flawless run in Pool A. The Nairobi-based outfit capped their group stage campaign with a commanding 33-19 victory over All Saints Embu, completing a perfect three-match winning streak.
Upper Hill had earlier opened their campaign in dominant fashion with a 26-0 win over Kwale High, before edging out Saint Mary’s Yala 17-10 in a tightly contested fixture. Their consistency and tactical discipline now position them as strong contenders heading into the knockout stages.
Meanwhile, the hockey competition delivered tightly fought encounters in the morning fixtures. Kisumu Day edged Alliance High School 1-0 in a narrow win, while St. Anthony’s Boys produced a statement performance with a resounding 6-0 victory over Mbooni. Friends School Kamusinga also secured a hard-fought 1-0 win against Lwanga.

In girls’ basketball, Butere High School showcased their attacking strength with an emphatic 75-48 triumph over St. Brigid’s. Kaya Tiwi followed with an impressive 55-23 win against Loreto, while Olympic High School maintained their strong run with a 55-24 victory over Takaba Girls.
Handball action in the girls’ category was equally intense during the morning session, producing high-scoring encounters. Moi Girls Kamusinga dominated St. Clare’s with a 32-11 win, while Karai edged past Mwatate 20-16 in a closely contested match. St. Joseph’s registered the biggest victory of the round, thrashing Wajir Girls 57-03, as Nyakach sealed a solid 27-17 win over Kyeni Girls.
With several disciplines now approaching the decisive stages, the national games continue to showcase a rich blend of talent, resilience, and competitive spirit, setting the stage for gripping semifinal clashes.
