Students in Nyaribari Chache Constituency have received a big financial boost after the National Government Constituency Development Funds( NG-CDF) started issuing cheques to beneficiaries on Monday.
Area MP Zaheer Jandah said his office released more than shillings 60 million to support the education of University, Middle level Colleges and National Polytechnics to continue with their studies.
In a speech read on his behalf by the local NG-CDF office Education Bursary Chairman Peter Nyambane, the MP said that his office decided to give priority to these category of learners because majority of them were in the final years of completing their courses and they wanted to create easy financial atmosphere to enable them prepare for examinations with any psychological pressure.

“We know the problems faced by students who come from humble background that is why we tried to give them priority in support.” He said.
The MP also asked those applied to the office for financial aid but did not succeed for different reasons to consult for possibilities of rectifying any errors in their application forms for reconsideration.
“All those who applied for education finance aid qualified but for a few isolated cases you can check with us we assist you with a new form.” He said.

He asked the beneficiaries to work hard in the pursuit of their courses at their respective institutions to enable pass well and join the other citizens in the positive nation building activities.
Saying that education is the strongest tool that man use to change the world, he asked the students to be models to their young brothers and sisters by living calm and focused life.
John Oimeke, a student from Kisii University who benefited from the funds, thanked the office for fair and equitable distribution of the funds to the applicants.
His sentiments were echoed by Violet Nyaboke a student from Chirichiro village who learns at Kisii National Polytechnic.
Emily Wamboi, a primary school teacher said she was happy that her daughter who studies in Kenya Medical Training College(KMTC) Nairobi branch received funds which were a big boost to assist her clear the College fees balance she owed them.
“I had a sked for a loan to finance her education when received boosting money from this office I felt relieved,” she said.
The NG-CDF Chairman said that the money was distributed equitably with the lowest applicant receiving Ksh5000 while the highest received Ksh10,000 depending on the needy weight of the information they provided on the application forms.
