The management of Bondo Teachers Training College (TTC) has expressed concern over inadequate facilities hindering the institution’s expansion since its relocation in 2010.

Speaking during the 26th graduation ceremony the Chairman of the Board of Management Elly Osiema highlighted the use of makeshift facilities for operations, emphasizing the urgent need for tuition blocks, hostels, and an administration block.

He revealed challenges exacerbated by heavy rains, causing the collapse of facilities such as latrines.

Additionally, Osiema stressed the lack of an ICT center, impeding compliance with the compulsory integration of ICT into the education curriculum.

He emphasized the necessity of these facilities for students to train effectively, aligning with the use of laptops in primary schools.

The Cabinet Secretary for ICT and Digital Economy Eliud Owalo pledged to establish a digital lab at the institution, urged learners to embrace digital technology, emphasizing the government’s commitment to the digital revolution and ensuring ICT compliance among students.

Expressing concern over the institution’s poor state, Bondo MP Dr. Gideon Ochanda shifted blame to the government, citing negligence.

However, he assured plans are underway to improve infrastructure, allocating Ksh. 15 million for the college in the current financial year.
