Learners at Saptet Primary School in Mogogosiek Ward, Konoin Sub-County, are set to enjoy improved learning conditions following the installation of a 10,000-litre water tank donated by Bomet Senator Hillary Sigei. The facility, handed over on Friday, is expected to ease the school’s long-standing struggle with water shortages that have disrupted lessons and compromised hygiene, especially during dry spells.
For years, the lack of a reliable water supply has forced pupils and teachers to contend with interrupted routines and unsafe conditions. With the new tank, the school anticipates steady access to clean water for handwashing, drinking, and daily operations, a move stakeholders say will directly improve health outcomes and reduce absenteeism.

Education officials welcomed the intervention, noting that basic infrastructure, such as water storage,e is critical to sustaining quality learning environments. They emphasized that the tank will not only relieve pressure on the institution but also strengthen its preparedness for drought periods, which often hit rural schools hardest.
Senator Sigei said the initiative reflects his broader commitment to ensuring equal opportunities for children across Bomet County.
“No child should be disadvantaged because of a lack of basic facilities like clean water,” he remarked, adding that investment in essential infrastructure is key to creating safe and dignified schools.
