Bomet East MP Richard Yegon has pledged to upgrade all schools affected by the ongoing road projects in the constituency.
Yegon assured residents that no learning institution will be left behind, a move he says will ensure uninterrupted learning activities.
Speaking in the area, he said he is already seeking funds to facilitate the upgrades and emphasised that the work should be completed before schools reopen.
“We must ensure that even as we improve infrastructure, our children’s learning environment is not compromised,” he said during a visit to the area.
He noted that while the improved road network is a significant boost for the constituency, education must remain a priority.

“The roads are important, yes, but learning is equally important and cannot be neglected,” he added.
The MP also assured residents that construction of Bomet High School will begin soon, calling on locals to support the project.
He dismissed fears that the new school would lead to the closure of nearby institutions. “All schools in this area will continue to have learners. The new high school is meant to expand opportunities, not take them away,” he said.
Yegon reiterated his commitment to strengthening the education sector, stressing that all funds allocated for the projects will be properly managed. “I am keen to ensure the money set aside is fully accounted for and used for the intended purposes,” he said.
Local residents welcomed the development, urging the MP to ensure the works are completed quickly to minimize disruption to learning.
