Residents of Bomachoge Borabu have voted to oppose the proposed scrapping of National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF)
They said that they have witnessed the great projects accomplished through the use of the Funding program more than two decades ago across the country.
In a public participation exercise that drew members from the four wards Magenche, Bokimonge, Bombaba and Boochi, the residents advised area MP Obadiah Barongo to strongly oppose the bill proposing to stop the funds.
“We all opposed the move by the government to remove the funds from action and advised our MP not to support the ill motivated move.” said Nathan Otara.

He cited the construction of modern classrooms, laboratories and libraries in the country by using NG- CDF to promote education development accused those against the continuation of the fund of being enemies of development.
Area MP Obadiah Barongo agreed with members of his constituency noting that the National Government Constituency Fund has enhanced the Construction of good roads, improved electricity connectivity and enhanced security through the construction of good offices for chiefs and their offices from where the can coordinate and discharge the government’s administrative duties with ease.
The residents advised the government to improve management of the fund instead of scrapping it because doing so will affect many students from poor homes who are depending of the money through education bursary fund in both Secondary and University.
“Iam the product of Constituency Education Bursary Fund, if the government stopped it I know many people especially those from disadvantaged homes will not step into any institutions of learning, and the area will be full of rogue youths,” said Rachael Oino.
In another gathering at Endereti Secondary where the MP led his group to donate beds to the students every speaker opposed the cutting of National Government Constituency Fund saying that stopping it will hinder a lot development like environment conservation, support of sports development and other areas like supporting in the building and boating health facilities through financial collaborative effort with the County Governments.
During the meeting at Endereti Secondary School in Bomachoge Borabu Constituency, area MP donated 145 beds to assist students to stay well in the boarding school.
