Body of Kenyan student who drowned in Australia finally found

The body of a 23-year-old Kenyan student who died while swimming in a lake in Western Australia on Sunday has been retrieved after a 48-hour search.

Orville Kimutai Tures was swimming at Stockton Lake near Collie town at 3.15 p.m. on Sunday when he went missing.

Australian Police say that other swimmers who were around when Tures drowned were unable to save him when the incident happened.

According to South West Police Superintendent Geoff Stewart, Tures was last seen swimming in the lake at about 3 p.m. on Sunday.

“We received the report of someone who had gone missing whilst in the water at Stockton Lake, Collie,” he said.

Tures, who hails from Kapteren in Elgeyo Marakwet went to Australia in March this year. He was a student at a university in Perth.
