Bishop Abiero Shauri Moyo Mixed Secondary School in Kisumu County has launched its major infrastructure plan which is aimed at improving the quality of learning in the institution.

The sub-county school located in Kisumu Central Constituency plans to complete its Modern Laboratory which is currently under construction.

The completion of the Laboratory will not only improve the learning in the Science subjects, but will be a major milestone since currently the school uses an Improvised Laboratory; which has been in use for a long time.

According to the School Principal Kennedy Oguta, the school plans to acquire a bus to help in transportation of students to academic and co-curricular activity trips.

The school currently has an enrollment of 1,200 students.

“We have embarked on an elaborate scheme this time round where we want to take a total of 25 students to public universities,” said Oguta, who added that in 2023 the mean improved from 3.0 in 2022 to 4.

He thanked former and current leaders in the region who have greatly supported the school including Ken Nyagudi, Olago Aluoch, Fred Ouda and Dr Joshua Oron who is the current Member of Parliament.

Maseno South ACK Rev Charles Onginjo has urged the students in the school, which is sponsored by ACK Church to work hard urging parents to monitor their students’ behaviour.

Kisumu TSC County Director Dr Samuel Marigat while attending a recent event in the school stated that the School is one of those learning institutions which are under close supervision, with others being Nyakach Girls and Diemo.

Dr Marigat stated further that the learning institution has the potential to do well when the students are well guided and disciplined

Established in 2009, the school has a teaching staff of 40 teachers.
