Be wary of boda boda who ferry your children to school, parents warned

Parents have been asked to scrutinize the people they give their children to take them to school every morning.

Speaking at Nguluni during the installation of the area Senior Chief Serah Mutua, Matungulu Deputy County Commissioner Evelyn Wekesa said that there were unscrupulous Boda boda riders who may pose danger to the children.

“There are some who use drugs and can’t differentiate between a young kid, a woman and an old woman, so parents please know the people you give your children to take them to school,” she said.

She noted that they should ensure the riders they contract are trained and qualified in a bid to avert unnecessary accidents caused by careless riding.

“Don’t allow your kids to be crowded in one motorbike being carried carelessly by some of these guys,” she added.

She also asked the Boda boda riders to be in the front line in the fight against crime in the sub county.

“We know you are aware of many crimes before they happen and working with security apparatus may help in curbing such vices,” she noted.
