Parents have been called upon to be vigilant and teach their children responsible usage of ICT platforms to avoid accessing sites with toxic messages which could harm their tender minds.
The founder Principal of NIBS Technical College Lizzie Wanyoike stated that the emergent information technology channels pose serious threats to teaching of positive moral values to the young people.
She pointed out that the youth today were being flooded with immoral, dirty and corrupting information through mobile telephones, media and internet which spoil their attitude and way of thinking to the detriment of the society.
Wanyoike ,a reputed motivational speaker, urged parents to enhance guidance and counseling of their children on the dangers exposed by the irresponsible consumption of ICT based information.
She made there marks when presiding over the launch of a magazine produced by pupils at Vidhu Ramji Primary School in Murang’a County.
The head teacher of Vidhu Ramji School Besnon Kiritu explained that the magazine was initiated to provide an avenue where pupils could develop their talents.
Kirirtu said the publication is discovering and nurturing writing talents for the benefit of the learners.
