Bata Shoe Kenya has opened two new stores in Meru town in a bid to ensure every household and all children have access to affordable shoes.

The opening of the new branch in Meru marks a significant expansion in the region.

The branches bring the total number of Bata outlets in the county to six.

The new outlets are located at Greenwood Mall in Meru town and Makutano shopping centre.

The Regional Marketing and Expansion (Africa and Middle East) manager Bibhuti Vikram Singh said they have started strategic investments which directly benefit people.

“Bata Kenya supports education and sports because it provides the much needed shoes for learners and runners respectively. The trade will also create employment and enhance relationship. I urge the residents to support Bata Kenya by buying shoes from them,” said Singh.

He lauded Bata’s contribution to the local economy and job creation, noting that it will lead to the progress of the community.

Bata Kenya Regional Human Resources Director John Ngoru said the expansion underscores Bata’s commitment to providing customers with quality and stylish footwear while supporting the local economy.

He said the new stores will be offering the latest footwear collections at affordable prices.

He highlighted the company’s growth plans and focus on customer satisfaction, noting that they have started an aggressive campaign of opening new stores countrywide.

“We remain confident in our expansion plans and see plenty of growth opportunities. Our mission at Bata is to offer quality, stylish, and affordable footwear. Currently we are operating in 24 countries worldwide. We shall open more stores countrywide, ” said Ngoru.

He said Bata’s aggressive expansion strategy involves opening a total of 13 new stores in 2024, increasing its retail network to 121 stores nationwide.

He said the company currently employs over 100 people in Meru, adding that they also support needy cases because they give priority to people’s welfare than the business.

Ngoru said their factory in Limuru produces approximately 30 million shoes annually.

He said they have partnered with the Kenya Association of Manufacturers and the government to educate livestock farmers on how to produce quality skins.
