The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arraigned Dorothy Jepkoech Kiptoo, an officer from the Office of the Auditor General, over allegations of using a forged academic certificate to gain public employment.
According to investigators, Kiptoo falsified a KCSE certificate and presented it as a genuine one issued by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC), which she used to obtain her job.
The Commission later submitted the file to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), which, after review, approved charges against her.

She faces accusations that include fraudulent acquisition of KSh 8,698,662.91 from the Auditor General’s office, forgery, and uttering a false document.
The suspect was first detained at the Integrity Centre Police Station before being produced at the Milimani Anti-Corruption Court.
There, she denied the charges and was granted release on a cash bail of KSh 100,000 or an alternative bond of KSh 500,000.
“EACC reaffirms its commitment to combating fraud and safeguarding integrity within the public service sector,” the Commission said in a statement.
