Aspirant who was former deputy headmistress dies

Former deputy school headmistress has died in a tragic road accident while heading to a funeral in Mombasa.

Nancy Wanjala Mwashumbe lost her life yesterday night at Ngutunyi, along the Mombasa-Nairobi Road. She was heading to Mombasa to attend her brother’s funeral

The late was the deputy headteacher before resigning to vie for Chaani Ward seat in Changamwe. She was vying under UDA party ticket.

Nancy was the deputy headmistress of Coast Girls High School in Mombasa County before venturing into politics.

The Deputy President, William Ruto, who is UDA party leader, condoled with the family via a Facebook post.

Hassan Omar, Mombasa gubernatorial aspirant on the UDA ticket eulogized her as a great friend and a teacher with a lot of wisdom.

Another UDA aspirant for the Nandi Hills constituency, Wesley Kogo, died in a road accident on the same day.

“We pray to God to comfort their families and constituents. The UDA family stands with them during these difficult times,” wrote Hon. William Ruto while eulogizing the two.
