Booming business in Nakuru suburb as college student numbers rise

The entrance to Nakuru Teachers Training College

Salgaa town in Nakuru County is experiencing a welcome economic boost as Nakuru Teachers Training College (TTC) and Rongai TTC welcome an influx of new students.

This recent enrollment surge has revitalized the local business scene, bringing a renewed sense of prosperity to the traders in the area.

Prior to the arrival of these students, the business climate was sluggish, deterring most merchants from expanding their businesses.

However, with the increased students enrolling in these nearby higher education institutions, traders have seized the opportunity to cater to the growing demand.

Grateful to the government’s decision to revise entry qualification criteria for TTCs, local traders have witnessed a remarkable turnaround in their fortunes.

In previous years, only a handful of students pursued admission to TTCs for ECDE and PTE teaching programs.

The influx of students into Nakuru County is not only boosting local businesses but also providing aspiring educators with enhanced opportunities for training and development.

As these institutions continue to thrive, the ripple effect on the community promises a brighter future for all involved.
