Arati warns boda boda riders against preying on innocent school girls

Kisii County Governor Simba Arati has warned boda boda riders against exploiting school girls during the long December holiday.

Speaking at Gusii Stadium, the governor accused the riders of being perpetrators of gender based violence by transporting the minors to sexual offenders.

He also alleged that some riders offer schoolgirls who can’t afford fare free rides in exchange for sexual favors, consequently leading to an increase in teen pregnancies.

Arati urged the boda boda riders to shun engaging in such vices, emphasizing that these actions tarnish the reputation of the industry.

In a separate event, Kisii County Commissioner Tom Anjere urged parents and guardians to monitor their children’s activities to prevent them from engaging in vices that might ruin their future.
