Anti-FGM board exudes confidence

The anti-Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) board has reaffirmed commitment to eradicate the vice that poses grave danger to health of women and girls.

President Uhuru Kenyatta recently said his government had developed a vibrant legislative framework that will be complemented by grassroots campaigns to end female cut by 2022.
The board’s Chair person Agnes Pareiyo: “As a board we have a tough task in ensuring that the country achieves zero-tolerance to the retrogressive culture.”

She said board in conjunction with the Interior Ministry have launched anti-FGM sensitization forums in 22 counties in the country
