The process of appointing County Coordinators is ongoing, with announcements expected soon. NCIC also expressed gratitude to outgoing coordinators for their selfless service in advancing Amani Clubs’ mission.
Amani Clubs National Chairman Kennedy Kunani said the organisation is partnering with schools and government agencies to educate students on peace, tolerance and responsible citizenship ahead of the 2027 elections. He noted that the clubs aim to equip young people with conflict‑resolution skills and ethical leadership values, fostering a culture of non‑violence and unity across the country.
“Our clubs are working closely with schools and government agencies to educate students on peace, tolerance, and responsible citizenship ahead of the 2027 elections. We aim to equip our youth with conflict-resolution skills and ethical leadership values to ensure a culture of non-violence and unity prevails in our country.” Kunani said
Kunani also unveiled the 2026 Debate Calendar-Debating for Peace Program (Kenya Edition):
17th-18th January 2026: Judges Training
By 7th February 2026: Sub-County Championship
By 7th March 2026: County Championship
7th–12th April 2026: National Championship
Kunani called on all partners to come on board to support the program as plans continue for the East African Debate in Kigali, Rwanda, scheduled for August 2026.
He added that the clubs’ work is significant in light of last year’s Saba saba demonstrations, where many lives were tragically lost, underscoring the need for continued peace education among young people.
With the new leadership in place and ongoing initiatives across schools nationwide, Amani Clubs are set to strengthen Kenya’s social cohesion and nurture responsible, peace-minded youth leadership for the future.
