A section of former students from Itierio High School have called on other alumni to join them so as to give back to the institution and develop its education standards to return it to its former academic glory.
Speaking through their chairman when they paid a courtesy call to the new Principal Mr. Wilfred Obiye on Friday, they expressed their confidence in his leadership.
“Mr. Obuya has grown to be a household name due to his outstanding performance in both posting excellent examination results and co-curricular activities in his previous stations,” said the chairman.
They said that their first mission for the school will be to join hands to develop the school in all sectors.
The old students appealed to the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to avoid transferring Principals without prior notice to allow them to prepare and articulate plans for their stations.
The settlement of Mr. Obiye came after it was discovered that Mr. Boniface Masese who transferred from St. Pauls Igonga had settled at Bishop Mugendi Nyakegogi and his movement to Itierio revoked.
Other recent changes in the region’s education sector include the transfer of the long-serving Director of Education Pius Ngoma who was moved to Bungoma county and replaced by Mr. Chirir in similar capacity.
Bong’onta Secondary school Principal Dr. Zachary Rabago goes to Mwongori High school in Nyamira County to replace Mr. David Mbaka who is now the Principal at Bong’onta.
Mr. Mbaka leaves Mwongori after serving for less than three months since he replaced Chief Principal Charles Onyari who transferred to Nyamira National school.
