All schools in Uasin Gishu have received capitation, Director affirms

Uasin Gishu County Director of Education (CDE) Khalif Isaac Hassan has assured parents that all schools have received capitation funds and learning is ongoing thus there is no cause for alarm.

“I want to confirm that the County has received capitation money from the Ministry of Education and has been disbursed to primary, junior secondary and senior secondary schools. Teachers are in class preparing their students for examinations,” he said.

Speaking to the press in his office, the CDE noted that music activities and ball games at the county level were also in progress.

“We have launched the county primary and secondary music competition where teams that qualified at the sub-county levels are participating,” said Khalif.

The Director called on parents to allow their students to participate in co-curricular activities saying it has its advantages in the holistic development of learners.

“Co-curricular activities fuel learning by stimulating creative thought, improving social and organizational skills, developing interests and talents and offer them the chance to participate in something they enjoy,” he added.
