All Bamachoge Chache students to get bursaries on applying, MP assures

Bomachoge Chache Constituency, Member of Parliament, (MP), has assured all University and Middle level colleges’ students who applies for NG-CDF education bursary fund in his constituency, will receive bursary fund in full.

MP Alpa Miruka said his NG-CDF office has released cheques worth Kshs 60 million to the beneficiaries.

He thanked his education bursary committee members for the fair distribution of the funds and attributed it to their commitment towards serving all the residents equitably.

“We may not satisfy all according to their financial aid expectations but I ask our people to appreciate what we give out depending on the amount we receive from the treasury,” he said.

The Law maker added that the issuance of education bursary cheques has been decentralized from the main NG-CDF office to ward level to take services closure to the residents.

According to the MP,those at Mahige Basi ward will collect their cheques from Egetonto hospital,Nyagesa and Nyataro Primary school starting from Wedneday, June 4.

He asked those from Boochi Tendere ward to go to the Constituency office,Getuki while those from Sengera Bosoti ward to collect tgeit chewues from Sengera Chief’s office ,Nyamasege and Riamo Technical college.

Miruka said that the issuance of the education bursary was base on family status that started with each of the total orphans receiving Ksh10,000 as partial orphans received Kshs 8,000 while those with both parents received Kshs 7,000 each.

Those in Technical and Vocational Education institutes and Medical Training colleges received between 5000 and 7000 shillings depending on the magnitude of their needy family backgrounds.

Parents who talked to Education News wished the NG- CDF could give priority to total orphan and increase their share to Kshs 15,000 for the purpose of sufficiency and retain other applicants for the next allocation.

“This fund is too little, let them find the best way to share it,” said John Barongo.

He accused the Bomachoge NG- CDF workers on double standard, as they allegedly issued the education bursary money to their relatives and asked the police to probe them.
