Alarm as boys in Bungoma drop school for boda boda business

A secondary school Principal has raised concerns over the high rate of male students dropping out of school to do the Boda boda transport business.

Isaac Musani the Principal of Kuywa Secondary School in Webuye West called on parents to make concerted efforts to curb the trend which is so alarming.

He made the revelation during the launch of ward bursaries in Sitikho ward, Bungoma County where he regretted that his Kuywa secondary School was among those affected.

“I also want to appeal to students to take education seriously, because it is the key to a better future,” said the Principal.

His sentiments were echoed by the area Member of the county assembly Hon. Grace Sundukwa who was equally alarmed by the dwindling boy child education uptake.

Sundukwa noted that there’s an urgent need to develop plans to ensure that the boy child’s education is given priority.
