Ainamoi MP embarks on a mission to complete stalled projects in schools

SCHOOL PROJECTS

Ainamoi Member of Parliament Benjamin Langat had embarked on injecting funds into some incomplete projects he left during his tenure before starting on the new ones.

He told residents of Ainamoi to put on hold their proposals for new projects and instead give priority to already existing but incomplete schools.

The seasoned politician who was appointed for ambassadorial work in Namibia came back and recaptured his former seat in 2022.

Langat was on a school development tour across Kapsoit Ward, in his Ainamoi constituency.

“I went on recess for 5 years and was shocked to find some school projects staring at me for expansion and others for completion.

I didn’t go anywhere with these projects, “he said.

Addressing jubilant parents, teachers and students of Telanet Girls School, he urged the residents to support institutions around them by enrolling learners en mass.

“It is ironic for parents around a school to send learners miles away yet they have under-utilized facilities within their proximity.

The same schools you proposed for funding,” he said.

During the tour and issuing Constituency Development Funds (CDF) cheques to various schools Langat gave Telanet Girls Sh 1.1 million for a new classroom, Ketitui Secondary School Sh 800,000 for buildings renovation and Torit Girls School Sh 1.4 million for the completion of a dormitory and ablution block.

He appealed to the school management to ensure they utilized prudently the funds for the intended purposes and engage experts to inspect the projects at every stage to avert shoddy work.

He also asked students to work hard in their studies and take the advice and guidance of their teachers seriously.

“It’s through hard work discipline and patience that you can excel in national exams. Your success too would attract more resources from donors and governments,” he added.
