Adult education learners post sterling results in 2022 KCSE

Adult education learners in Mvita Sub County in Mombasa who sat the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) as private candidates posted impressive performance in the area, Education News has reliably established.

The Mvita sub county Adult Education Officer, Mr. Nicodemus Mranja told Education News in his office at Bima Tower Building in Mombasa town recently that three candidates who sat the national Examination last year tied and scored C each.

He added that of the three candidates who tied and scored C (plain) each, one of them is  Nguzo Alice Malomb of Tom Mboya Literacy Centre.

Some 101 adult learners were registered to sit for the national examination by the Ministry of Education.

The 2022 KCSE performance for Adult learners in Mvita Sub County were as follows here below;

3 C ( plain )

4 C – ( Minus )

7 D+ ( plus )

15 D ( plain )

37 D- ( minus )

15 E

13 cases of absenteeism were recorded where candidates were registered by the Ministry of Education to sit for the national examination.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mranja has advised parents in the sub county to cooperate fully and ensure that they register their standard eight adult education learners for the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE), which is the last one to be examined in the history of this country, noting the government has initiated new education system which is the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC).

At the same time, the sub county Adult Education Officer, asked parents in the area to come forward and enroll their children who dropped out of school in standard five and form one to literacy centers near them to continue with their education

“The sub county’s rapid development rests entirely on educated people,” explained Mr. Mranja.

He also asked all adult education stakeholders in the area to work as a team by ensuring that they avail the essential physical learning facilities in the literacy centers to enable adult learners learn under conducive learning environment.

He, however disclosed that two adult secondary schools have been established in the area ( Mvita sub county ) to enable form one adult learners take their lessons in a more effective and efficient way ( manner ).
